Founder story · NYC
Built from an intolerance for generic.
useMidi is a founder-led hardware company making programmable physical interfaces for people who produce, perform, and ship creative work — engineer by day, producer by night.
01 // ORIGIN
Physical intuition, digital tools
High-performance acoustic music taught how deeply creation depends on physical intuition. Moving into electronic music and interactive performance made the next gap obvious: the software keeps evolving, while the tools we use to control it stay basic, generic, and trapped behind flat glass.
That work now lives in a NYC workshop — hand-wired builds, laser-cut enclosures, microcontroller firmware, and a parametric design-to-fabrication pipeline aimed at bringing premium tactile hardware to more creators.
Physical intuition is how we create. I’m building useMidi to bring that feel into modern digital tools — premium tactile hardware, shaped by parametric design and digital fabrication, at a scale that works for creators.
02 // POSITION
Craft at platform scale
useMidi sits with design-forward hardware where the object is a statement of engineering taste — micro-engineering, tactile feedback, and workflow that stays out of the way.
Every unit is a programmable platform: class-compliant USB MIDI, browser remapping over SysEx, optional banks, and field firmware updates — zero drivers.
03 // HARDWARE
What ships
Compact, highly configurable controllers for desks and stages — potentiometers, buttons, LED feedback, and a full Web MIDI configuration surface. More SKUs are in batch. Custom maps and modifications are part of the practice, not an afterthought.
04 // CONTACT
